Aurora González Artigao is a PhD student holding a Pre-doctoral Grant by the Spanish Ministry of Education (Beca FPU) from October 2016 to September 2020. Her research project is provisionally entitled “From Zaragoza to Murcia and Damascus: enlarged perspectives on the Banu Hud (11th-13thcenturies)” and explores the political, social, religious and intellectual dynamics of an Andalusi lineage, aiming at a comparative analysis with similar trajectories in other Islamic and non-Islamic societies. The research is supervised by Maribel Fierro at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Institute of Languages and Cultures of the Mediterranean, Center of Human and Social Sciences in Madrid, Spain (CCHS-CSIC), and by Carlos de Ayala, Universidad Autónoma Madrid.

She has a degree in History from the Universidad Autónoma Madrid. She has studied  the Arabic language at Casa Árabe, Madrid. In 2016 she finished a M. A. in Hispanic Medieval Studies in the Universidad Autónoma Madrid.
