Soy un investigador científico en el Instituto de Economía, Geografía y Demografía (IEGD) dentro del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas de España (CSIC). Obtuve mi doctorado en Sociología en la Universidad de Oxford (Nuffield College, Reino Unido) y el Instituto Juan March (Madrid, España).
He sido profesor y profesor visitante en la UNED, la Universidad de Bielefeld, las Universidades Autónoma y Carlos IIII de Madrid y la Universidad Pompeu Fabra de Barcelona. Durante el mandato 2019-2023 fui Director General de Innovación y Estrategia Social en el Ayuntamiento de Madrid.
Mi investigación tiene como objetivo comprender cómo el estatus de migrante determina los resultados educativos y de salud entre los hijos de migrantes y los niños migrantes. Más específicamente, mi trabajo aborda las desigualdades perinatales, los resultados cognitivos y no cognitivos, las trayectorias educativas y los retornos de la educación. También me interesa las técnicas cuantitativas y sus implicaciones metodológicas.
