Researcher in charge: Marta Moreno García
Members:
The scientific activity of the Palaeconomy and subsistence of preindustrial societies (PssP) research group is focussed in the investigation of socio-economic and cultural processes in the past through the analysis of archaeological organic materials. Research and analytical studies in Carpology and Archaeozoology are carried out in the facilities of the Arqbio laboratory, which is part of the Archaeology Laboratories of the Institute of History. We have comparative reference collections in both areas, infrastructures for processing archaeobotanical (plant macroremains) and archaeozoological samples as well as equipment for sampling in the field, microscopes and binoculars equipped with digital cameras and specialized software for image analyses.
