Ana María López-Sala, Ph.D in Sociology, and Tenured Research Fellow at Institute of Economics, Geography and Demography, Spanish Council for Scientific Research (CSIC). Her research interests deals around comparative immigration policies, irregular immigration, immigration control and borders. She is the author of Immigrants and States : the political response to migration (Anthropos, Barcelona, 2005) Migration and Borders (Icaria and CIDOB, Barcelona, 2010) and Estados de Contención, Estados de detención. El control de la inmigración irregular (with Dirk Godenau, Anthropos, 2017). She has been a member of LINET (Independent Network of Labor Migration and Integration Experts, IOM and EC) and was a Rockefeller Fellow at Bellagio (2009). She was researcher in charge of " Is Spain moving toward new solutions to manage migration?Bilateral agreements to contract workers in countries of origin, mobility partnerships and Circular Migration (CIRCULAR Project).
He is currently researcher in charge of MIND Project (Non-state actors of migration control; 2015-2019) and member of the European Research Project TEMPER.
